Trade War escalate .. China stops US natural gas imports

China’s purchases of American LNG fell to Safar last March after a sharp decrease in the previous two months in a context between the two largest shipments of shipping.
The Chinese official customs data issued on Sunday stated that the total imports of American LNG shipments in the first quarter of 2025 decreased by 70%, according to Bloomberg News Agency.
And a renovated geopolitical conflict, the link between the largest buyer and seller of liquefied natural gas in the world.

Customs fees escalate

An escalation in mutual customs duties prompted China to impose 125% fees on all American commodities, and turned into Indonesia and Qatar in order to obtain supplies.

LNG imports decreased from last year 5 months in a row, a decrease of 24.5 % in March, representing the largest decline since November 2022.
The pipeline gas, mainly from Russia, recorded a marginal increase in the first quarter, although the total size remained low from marine shipments.
China has been based on charcoal and renewable energy, not the LNG market, to protect its energy security from commercial fluctuations, according to the analyst Daniela Lee of Bloomberg M. F for research.
