"Energy and infrastructure" and"UAE for charging vehicles" Organize "Electric Vehicles Council"

Abu Dhabi, April 22/ WAM/ The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in cooperation with the Emirates for the UAEV electric vehicle charging stations, organized yesterday the third edition of the “Electric Vehicles Council”, which collected a group of major regional and international electric vehicles manufacturers, along with a number of experts and specialists in the field of sustainable mobility.

During the Council, which was chaired by His Excellency Eng. Sharif Al -Ulami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “UAEV”, and the Ministry’s organization on the sidelines of the 2025 electric vehicle exhibition and conference, held in Abu Dhabi, the most prominent developments in the electric vehicle system, including modern technological developments, and infrastructure policies supporting sustainable transport, were reviewed, along with discussing the most prominent challenges It faces the sector, such as standardizing standards and expanding shipping networks.

Participants also exchanged visions on ways to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in a way that supports national targets, especially the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050, and the strategic initiative of climate neutrality 2050.

His Excellency Eng. Sharif Al -Ulama stressed that the Council of Electric Vehicles constitutes a strategic platform to enhance cooperation with the private sector, to advance the shift towards sustainable movement, pointing out that the UAE pays great attention to developing the sustainable transportation system and enhancing dependence on electric vehicles, in line with its vision to achieve climate neutrality.

He explained that the ministry, through the Electric Vehicles Council, works to create a stimulating environment for cooperation and exchange of experiences, in a way that contributes to accelerating the pace of innovation and expanding the infrastructure, and overcoming the obstacles facing the sector, leading to a more efficient and sustainable transfer system.

His Excellency pointed out that the ministry is committed to continuing to support efforts aimed at enhancing the state’s competitiveness in the electrical movement, through qualitative initiatives such as developing national policies, adopting the latest smart shipping technologies, and strengthening strategic partnerships with the private sector.
