Abdullah bin Zayed meets the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka in Colombo

Colombo on April 22 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Vegeta Hirat, Minister of Foreign Affairs, External Employment and Tourism in the Social Democratic Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka.
The meeting held today in the framework of his visit to His Highness to Colombo discussed friendship and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields related to development paths in the two countries.
They also reviewed the opportunities to develop cooperation frameworks in several sectors, including economic, commercial, tourism and development.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the distinguished relations between the two countries, stressing that Sri Lanka is an important partner for the UAE, and the two countries have a joint keenness to invest all the constituents available to them to push the paths of cooperation towards more comprehensive horizons in all fields, especially developmental.
His Highness and His Excellency Vegeta Herat also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern and exchanged views on them.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Vegeta Hirat witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE and the National Chamber of Trade in Sri Lanka regarding the establishment of the UAE Business Council joint.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al -Hajri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Commercial Affairs and His Excellency Dr. to complete Fernando, Vice President of the National Trade Chamber of Sri Lanka.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al -Sayegh, Minister of State, His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al -Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs, His Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Balla, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, and His Excellency Khaled Nasser Al -Amri, the State Ambassador to the Social Democratic Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka.
