المملكة: Obliging health facilities to report the refusal or delay of the basic childhood vaccinations

The Saudi Health Council issued a new policy stressing the need to follow a mandatory and unified mechanism to deal with cases of abstaining or unjustified delay in providing basic vaccinations included in the national schedule for children.
The council categorically affirmed in its new policy that obtaining these vaccinations is an authentic regular right for the child, and it is not permissible in any way to prevent this right or complacency in it without the presence of a significant health or systematic cause that justifies that procedure.
The new policy obliged all health authorities that provide basic fortifications for children, whether in the public or private sector, to take responsibility for immediate reporting of any state of abstinence or delay in vaccination that is not based on acceptable justification.

See the guardian of the child
Upon monitoring such cases, the policy stipulated that the health facility must inform the guardian of the child concerned with the “full knowledge model” designed for this purpose, and explain its contents to him, and then obtain his signature on him, while maintaining the model signed in the child’s medical file as proof and documentation of the action taken.
The policy identified a clear and specific mechanism to submit the reports related to these cases, as it necessitated the sending of each communication separately and directly via the allocated email set by the council for this matter.
She stressed the necessity of attaching a copy of the authorized “reporting form” and a copy of the “full knowledge model” signed by the guardian with each communication, after making sure that all the required data and information in both models to ensure the completion and validity of the procedure.

In a move aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of the policy effectively, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, based on directives issued by the Saudi Health Council, stressed the importance of the commitment of all health facilities, especially in the private sector, to deal immediately and accurately with cases of abstinence or delay in vaccinations according to the approved mechanism.
Al -Ittihad urged, through the circulars of its direction to the commercial chambers in various regions, the health facilities concerned with the initiative to submit the required communications as soon as all the specific requirements are met, indicating that this trend comes in response to a previous observation of the health council about the absence of a clear and unified mechanism to deal with these sensitive cases.
For its part, the Ministry of Health has renewed its warnings of the dangers of neglecting the basic vaccination of children, stressing that this may expose them to serious health complications and effective diseases that can be effectively preventing through vaccines, including measles, waterproofing, hepatitis B “, forkline fever, jazz, Rota virus, measles, German, diphtheria, mumps, and pediatric paralysis.
The Ministry explained that vaccinations act as stimulating materials for the immune system, and are considered a safe and effective method for prevention, noting that these warnings come within their continuous awareness efforts to maintain the health and safety of children and educate parents of the importance of adhering to the deadlines for vaccinations.
