"Emirates copying rights" It enhances Arab cooperation to protect the rights of creators

Rabat on April 22/ WAM/ The Emirates Association for the Management of Novels Rights is participating in the activities of “Sharjah Guest of Sharaf”, within the activities of the International Publishing and Writing Exhibition in Rabat, which will continue until April 27, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance its regional and international presence, and expand the scope of its impact in the field of copyright protection and neighboring rights on the Arab and international arenas.

This participation is an opportunity to enhance the exchange of experiences between the UAE and Morocco, in the field of law management and the participation of successful experiences at the level of legislation and practices.

Through its participation in the exhibition, the association seeks to spread awareness of the importance of consolidating the culture of copying rights, and highlighting the necessity of preserving literary and creative rights of its owners, as well as highlighting the national trends of the UAE in developing the intellectual property protection system.

It also aims to enhance its strategic relations by building new partnerships and signing cooperation agreements with the bodies concerned with copying and publishing rights in Morocco and the countries participating in the exhibition.

Dr. Mohamed Al -Kamali, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Association for the Management of Natural Rights, said that the association’s participation in the exhibition comes as an affirmation of its commitment to expanding the horizons of cooperation with brothers in the Arab world and enhancing efforts to protect the intellectual rights of creators.

He stressed the importance of the integration of roles between cultural and legal institutions to ensure an environment that stimulates innovation and protects the products of thought and creativity in light of the accelerated developments in the creativity and intellectual property sector, noting that the association’s keenness to participate in the Emirati experience and benefit from the pioneering experiences provided by the Kingdom of Morocco in this field.

During the exhibition, the association’s program included the definition of its activities and initiatives within the “Sharjah Guest of Sharaf” pavilion, as well as holding a distinguished dialogue session entitled “Preserving the Rights of Creators – the Emirati Moroccan experience”, which brought together experts from the UAE and Morocco to present the experience of the two countries in preserving the rights of copies and creative rights of the authors.

The dialogue session dealt with the role of policies, legislation and institutions in protecting the rights of creators and their contribution to developing the economy and the challenges it faces, as well as reviewing best practices and discussing innovative solutions that would contribute to ensuring the sustainability of creative production and supporting the knowledge -based economy.

This participation reflects the association’s commitment to enhancing regional dialogue and exchanging experiences with sister countries, in a way that contributes to developing an integrated legislative and institutional environment that supports creators and preserves their rights in the Arab world.
