The registration door opened to participate in the 34th version of "Lock"

Dubai, April 22 / WAM / The organizing committee for the “Al -Qafal” race announced in its 34th edition of the opening of registration to participate in the large heritage race designated for local sailing ships, 60 feet category, which is scheduled to be held from May 1 to 4, from Sir Bounir Island to the shores of Dubai.
The event will be held under the patronage and support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and is organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club annually since 1991, in fulfillment of the vision of its founder, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The Supreme Organizing Racing Committee, headed by Ahmed Saeed bin Mashmar, reviewed the ongoing preparations and coordination with the government agencies and the concerned national institutions, in order to ensure the success of the demonstration that celebrates the heritage of diving and sailing in the Arabian Gulf.
Mohamed Abdullah Hareb Al -Falahi, the club’s executive director and member of the Supreme Committee, stressed that determining the date of the start of the race will depend on the follow -up of meteorological reports and the state of the sea, in order to ensure the safety of the participants.
He pointed out that the committee is working with the partners to facilitate the transfer of the contestants to the starting point on the island of Sir Bounir, and the club’s convoy is preparing to go early to the island to start technical and logistical equipment.
The race track extends to more than 50 nautical miles, passing through the island of Moon as a compulsory transit point, all the way to the finish line on the shores of Dubai.
