15.4 % growth in foreign trade in Xinjiang during the first quarter

On April 24/ WAM/ Official data issued by the Oromache Customs showed that the Xinjiang autonomous region in northwestern China recorded a remarkable growth in its foreign trade volume by 15.4 percent, to 108.16 billion yuan (about 15 billion US dollars), during the first quarter of this year.
The People’s Daily Online newspaper reported that the exports of the region amounted to 95.17 billion yuan during the period from January to March, while its imports recorded 12.99 billion yuan.
Zhao Roy, an official at the Oromi Customs, confirmed that this growth comes as a result of the recovery of the main trade markets and the strong momentum witnessed by emerging markets in the region.
The Chinese official explained that the commercial structure of the Zenjiang is witnessing a continuous improvement, noting that the public trade has become the largest commercial category in the region during the first quarter of the year, with a growth of 66.7 percent on an annual basis, to represent more than half of the total foreign trade of the region, which reflects the high capabilities of local companies development.
Xinjiang this year is enhancing high -quality development paths, deepening economic reforms, and expanding high -level openness to global markets.
