"Writer Union".. a session with writers of the short list of the Arabic novel

Abu Dhabi, April 24 / WAM / The Emirates Writers and Writers Union, in cooperation with the International Prize for Arabic Novel, in its branch in Abu Dhabi, organized a dialogue session with the writers of the short list of the award, moderated by the writer Aisha Sultan and with the participation of the novelists Nadia Al -Najjar, Muhammad Samir Nada, Hanin Al -Sayegh and Azhar Gerges.

At the beginning of the session, the writer Aisha Sultan presented an introductory summary of the writers and their fictional works that qualified for the short list of the Arabic novel, where the session opened with the Lebanese poet and novelist Hanin Al -Sayegh, who started her career as a poet and then went to write her first novel entitled “The Charter of Women”, which she qualified for the finals in the award. Writer Hanin talked about her experience in writing her novel, and she said: “I discovered through my travels and my discussion with many women in various countries and cultures, that there is no mother of them who did not tell me that she feels guilty towards her children, whether she is working, spectacular, separate from her husband, or even continuing to live with him, in all circumstances the mother lives in this painful state of feeling guilty towards them.”

Then the writer Aisha Sultan moved to talk about the novel “Prayer of anxiety” by writer Mohamed Samir Nada, and she interviewed him about the details of the novel and his choice of her title, where he discussed in his novel about his preoccupation with man when he steals the actual history and narrates a false, false history, and discussed the idea of ​​falsifying collective awareness in societies and peoples and fabricating an alternative history and who controls the past and who controls the past And the future.

Then the writer and novelist Nadia Al -Najjar discussed her novelist, which was titled “The Tele of Light” and said about this work: “I speak in this work about the blind who does not have a visual memory, and it is very different from the blind who has a visual memory, it is how he imagines things around him and how he sees them, and for me I think he sees, because he sees the world in a different way,” as it has been done in the search a lot about smart applications that work to describe things The inanimate objects and others said during this research, I felt that this is exciting and interesting, saying: “Today the blind can use these applications and in turn explain and describe things for him with clear and complete accuracy.”

And on the novel “Wadi Al -Farashat” by the Iraqi writer Azhar Gerges, he spoke during the session about this work, which is a story in which imagination mixes with reality and tragedy with comedies, and about childhood, which is the biggest loser in wars, and through this work I wanted to communicate this idea, and that adults are the ones who choose their lives, but the child is innocent in light of the conflicts that exist in these wars, and the hero in this novel was an archive employee who loses his confidence The neighborhoods, despite the loss he lives from the events of the novel, is the one who gives his life the meaning and tires it from failure.
