165.6 billion dollars in the current account surplus for China in the first quarter

BEIJING, May 11 / WAM / China recorded a current account surplus of $ 165.6 billion in the first quarter of 2025, according to data issued by the National Foreign Cash Authority.
The surplus in the commodity trade amounted to 237.6 billion dollars during the mentioned time, while the country recorded a deficit in the service trade of $ 59.3 billion.
In terms of private withdrawal rights, the surplus current account in China amounted to 126.2 billion units of special withdrawal rights during the first three months of this year.
Special withdrawal rights are an international backup assets with interest established by the International Monetary Fund to supplement other reserve assets of member states.
