Fujairah Airport inaugurates the direct flights of Indigo to Mumbai and Kenor

Fujairah on May 15 / WAM / Al -Fujairah International Airport witnessed this morning the start of the first flights of Indigo Airlines, by two direct daily flights to Mumbai and Kenor in India, which paves the way for a partnership aimed at promoting air linking between Fujairah and the main Indian cities, and contributes to strengthening tourism and economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of India.

The airport received the first plane with a traditional greeting, followed by an official reception in the Great Visitor Hall in the presence of His Excellency Satish Kumar, the Consul General of India in Dubai, His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al -Salami, Head of the Civil Aviation Department in Fujairah, His Excellency Captain Ismail Al Balushi, Director General of Fujairah International Airport, Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Deputy Director of the Airport, and Vinai Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at Indigo Air, and a number of officials and managers in the Emirate of Fujairah.

Mohamed Abdullah Al -Salami stressed the strategic importance of launching these trips, indicating that it represents the first fruitful cooperation between the UAE and India; He said that the Emirate of Fujairah is characterized by its picturesque nature, its ancient history and its rich culture, stressing the importance of these new destinations for the Indian community, and what it will reflect positively on the tourism movement and commercial and cultural exchange.

He also praised the distinguished services provided by the Indigo Airlines, which are appropriate to the needs of society.

His Excellency Captain Ismail Al -Balushi expressed his happiness at launching the Indigo flights to Mumbai and Kenor, describing it as a qualitative step towards strengthening the air linking between the two countries.

He pointed out that this step allows travelers to access various Asian destinations via the Indigo Air Network, such as the Maldives, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Dhaka, Voycell and Colombo.

He also announced the launch of the Fujairah Airport, a free transportation service for travelers linking the airport and all the emirates of the state, which can be accessed from different parts of the country and provides more comfort for travelers.
