Diabetes is the first type between challenges and treatments

In a world where the spread of chronic diseases is increasing, diabetes has become a heavy guest that imposes itself on the scene of health care globally, especially in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, driven by many environmental, immunological and genetic factors that almost exist in every home and with different age groups. In his conversation with Al -Madinah newspaper, Dr. Raed Al -Dahash, a consultant and head of the Gross and Diabetes Department of the National Guard, the relationship between family history and type 1 diabetes, stressing that despite his increased risk of developing the disease, most cases appear in people without a clear history, which indicates other factors that may lead to the emergence of this disease, especially among individuals who are genetically prepared.

Perhaps the most common type of diabetes is the second, which differs from the first in terms of the causes of its occurrence and methods of treatment, as Dr. says. Amazing that this type occurs as a result of the body’s resistance to the effect of insulin, and is accompanied by a gradual decrease in the secretion of this substance, as it is often associated with lifestyle and genetic factors. It can be managed by combining healthy habits in lifestyle, such as a balanced diet and exercises, as well as taking oral medications, with the possibility of resorting to insulin in later stages. The first type is one of the autoimmune diseases that occur in stages as a result of attacking the immune system of the beta cells responsible for manufacturing insulin in the pancreas, which leads to the stopping of its production, and its management requires insulin treatment for life, in addition to the accurate monitoring of the level of sugar.

He continues his speech, referring to the long -term health complications that may accompany diabetes of the first type in cases of poor treatment and management, including cardiovascular diseases, kidney damage, eye problems, peripheral nerve damage and diabetic foot problems. In this context, doctors recommend a set of steps and activities that limit these risks, such as periodic follow -up with the health care team, control sugar levels and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The antibodies are one of the most important substances used in the tests for early detection of the disease, as they are a protein secreted by the immune system and attacking the healthy cells of the body by mistake. In the case of type 1 diabetes, these bodies target insulin -producing beta cells in the pancreas and indicate the start or possibility of the disease in the event of their presence in the blood.

In light of the remarkable development of the health sector today in treatments and techniques, type 1 diabetes has become a condition that is easy to coexist with and control, through the appropriate diagnostic methods and appropriate management procedures that the patient can follow to reduce the symptoms and reduce complications that may result in the long term.
