The economic slowdown negatively affects the unemployment rates in Austria

Vienna on June 2 / WAM / The latest official data issued by the Austrian Statistics Authority showed that the unemployment rate in Austria increased by 0.5% to 6.9%, an increase of 24,196 people, last May, compared to a monthly basis.
The Austrian Ministry of Labor announced the increase in the number of unemployed and registered in training and rehabilitation programs, in May, recording 375.47 people in all work offices at the level of Austria, of whom 29,6,140 are unemployed in addition to 79207 people registered in training programs supervised by the ministry.
Commenting on the new labor market data, Johannes Copef, a member of the Board of Labor offices, pointed to the effect of the continuous economic recession on the increase in the unemployment rate, and said, “As long as we have not seen significant growth, unemployment will not decrease despite the increase in the supply of employment.”
