She shouted hardly .. This is what happened with a journalist on the air! (video)

Australian correspondent Lauren Tomasi was injured with a rubber bullet while covering violent protests that erupted in Los Angeles, against the backdrop of raids carried out by the American immigration authorities, which resulted in the arrest of hundreds of people across California.

Tomasi, the special delegate to the Nine News network, covered the demonstrations in front of the city’s center detention center, when the Los Angeles police used non -fatal shots to disperse the protesters. In her report, she appeared indicating that the tension rapidly escalated, saying: “After hours of anticipation, the police stormed the place on horseback, and fired rubber bullets to push the demonstrators to decline.”

A few minutes later, Thomasi started screaming pain and holding her leg, while one of the attendees was heard saying: “You shot the journalist.”

In a statement, Nine News confirmed that the correspondent and photographer who was accompanied by it was fine, and described the incident as “a blatant reminder of the dangers faced by journalists during their coverage of events from the front rows.”

The incident sparked angry reactions, as the Australian Senate of the Green Party, Sarah Hanson-Young, considered what happened “shocking and unacceptable at all”, asking the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanizi to communicate with the American authorities and asked for official clarifications about what the correspondence was subjected to.
