UN appeal to raise $ 29 billion to meet urgent needs for about 114 million people

New York, June 16/ WAM/ The United Nations has made a “high priority” call to collect 29 billionaires to meet urgent needs of about 114 million people around the world.
The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Coordination (OCHA) said that the appeal comes in the wake of the largest financing discounts ever in the international humanitarian sector.
The emergency relief coordinator, Tom Flehsher, explained the human financing discounts that put the entire humanitarian sector in front of harsh options, as many people will not get the support they need.
He said that the United Nations is determined to continue working in cooperation with its partners, to try to save the largest possible lives with its resources.
He stressed that the efforts of humanitarian work currently need urgently to 44 billion dollars, especially since with the end of nearly half of the year, only 5.6 billion dollars were received as financing for the assistant aid programs “less than 13%” percent of what is required to finance these programs.
