Osama Nabih: Egypt’s ambition is great in the U -20 World Cup

The official website of the International Football Association & quot & quot; A special dialogue with Osama Nabih, the coach of the Egyptian youth team for the under -20, after his success in leading the Pharaohs to qualify for the Chilean World Cup 2025
& nbsp; Africa. How do you describe your feeling after achieving this great achievement? In fact, I received the task at a very difficult time, but, in a short period of time, we can get to know the team and its capabilities quickly. We worked hard to assess the situation and choose the most appropriate elements, and they have provided the required performance. Although the preparations for the championship were not adequately, we, through a degree of organization and set a clear system in a short period of time, we were able to achieve our goal, which is an achievement for the current generation. What we have presented, due to the limited time available to prepare before the tournament. However, it is not the desired level during the coming period. Usually, the major teams that achieve the results have started work three or four years ago, so what we have achieved is very good. And I hope that we can also perform a good performance in the World Cup. The loss by four was a real shock, especially since the course of the match did not indicate this big result. We performed well, and we got a lot to the goal, but we suffered a severe defeat, and that was our worst games. However, our ability to restore our balance quickly was from our happiest moments. The players faced unprecedented pressure, especially with playing on the homeland and under the pressure of the fans and the media, but they managed to overcome them and gain great experiences, they will realize their true value later. Daily exercises as a team, along with a match or two at the end of each week, instead of intermittent clusters as a team. We have already started working continuously from the third of July to the date of travel to participate in the championship. When we noticed that the short preparation period helped us to qualify for this global event, we decided to double the effort and increase the time of work may enable us to provide something good in the championship. Likewise, in the nations of Africa, we accompanied 26 players, while our list of the World Cup will include only 21 players, so we will be more keen to choose the elements capable of providing the best level. As a technical device, we plan and work, but the performance on the field belongs to the players. As for Chile, as the host country, the presence with it in the same group means automatically playing under great public pressure, at least in that match. The three teams belong to different football schools, and we will rely on the technical evaluation of each to determine the strengths and weaknesses. In the end, there are no easy matches in the World Cup, and what matters is our readiness and the players’ willingness at the time of the tournament, and we hope that we will be in the best possible condition. Each meeting. But I have great confidence in God and in the players, and if things go according to the plan we set, and with the same rate of work we are targeting, I trust that the players will appear well, and we will be able to overcome the group stage. As Egyptians specifically, our aspirations may often exceed the limits of our capabilities, but when we have the opportunity, we explore unexpected energies. We hope that this time we can get these underlying energies that no one can expect.
What is your current plan to prepare for the World Cup? We played two friendly matches against the Kuwaiti Olympic team this month. The program, which I submitted to the Football Association, includes holding matches against a number of Egyptian Premier League clubs, in addition to organizing an international championship in the second half of August. I also asked to travel to South America 12 days before the start of the tournament, with the aim of providing the players to adapt to the atmosphere there. I know them well to inquire about their position on joining the team in the World Cup, and we are waiting for the response, which is definitely an important opportunity for any player. In the end, the professionals can only be relied upon on the dates of the international agenda, but it is important to follow them early and they are young, to integrate them into the national team, especially since we have a large number of professionals at this age, and they may have a future role with us and then with the first team. There are teams that have the experiences of our superiority in the African Championship as well, even at the level of African players outside the continent. We seek to make up for this difference through the system in the tactical aspects and the way we rely on. Enter the tournament in a random and unorganized manner that will end with bad performance. The team that does not abide by the system will appear disappointing, as happened in our big loss against Sierra Leone. If the team plays a system, it will have an opportunity, and if it does not abide, it will be completely far, especially with the clear differences in the capabilities compared to other teams. In qualifying for the World Youth Cup after an absence of 12 years, I was the first official, while in the upcoming team of the adult team to the 2018 edition after 28 years of absence, I was the second official. Each experience has its own character and feeling. But this achievement remains a milestone in my training career, and perhaps the most important, as a few & ndash; If I am not the only & ndash; Those who qualified twice, whether as a technical manager or as a general coach.
Do you prepare the current generation to be the basis for the first team in the coming years? The arrival of this group to the World Cup is in itself an indication of its continuity. The first step in the project was to qualify for the world championship, and we hope to achieve positive results during our participation. Then we are in difficult competition for reaching the Olympics, due to the players gaining greater experiences, especially in Europe and Africa, along with professionals. Also, the number of teams qualified from Africa has become only two, which increases the difficulty of the task, especially with the varying experiences, capabilities and preparation at the continent level.
