Adoption of the new formation of"Gulf Cancer Society"

Sharjah, July 25/ WAM/ His Excellency Sawsan Al -Fahama, Jaafar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, Chairman of the Gulf Federation for Combating Cancer, approved the new formation of the members of the Caliphate Association for Oncology, which represents the scientific arm of the union.

The new formation included a group of specialized doctors from various countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, namely Dr. Aida Al -Awadi and Dr. Hamid Al Shamsi from the UAE, in addition to recommending Dr. Maha Al -Sindi from the Kingdom of Bahrain for the association and Dr. Taha Al -Lawati from the Sultanate of Oman as an advisor.

The formation also included Dr. Abdulaziz Hamada, Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Jassem from the State of Kuwait, Dr. Noura Al Hammadi from the State of Qatar, in addition to Dr. Ahlam Al -Dahl, Dr. Kholoud Al -Wasibi from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ahmed Badeb and Dr. Labib Abdullah from the Republic of Yemen.

Sawsan Jaafar stressed that the Gulf Oncology Association will take over a number of vital scientific tasks, including supervising the organization of the annual conferences of the Federation in various Gulf countries and following up on joint research studies between oncology doctors in the region, in addition to updating the approved treatment protocols that were launched six years ago.

She pointed out that the association is responsible for issuing the ruled “Gulf Oncology” magazine, and it won a prominent international classification in the American National Registry for more than 15 years, to become a scientific reference in cancer research at the level of the Gulf and the region.

The Gulf Cancer Society is scheduled to supervise the scientific side at the next conference of the union to be held in February 2026, organized by the Kuwaiti Association for the Combating Smoking and Cancer.

Jaafar affirmed her great confidence in the young Gulf competencies, praising their achievements in the field of tumor therapy, and stressed the importance of this scientific distinction continues to serve the Gulf societies and the region.
