Enhancing international peace and security is the cornerstone of the stability of peoples and the achievement of development

Dr. Ali Rashid Al -Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal Federal National Council, stressed the importance of strengthening international peace and security as the cornerstone of the stability of peoples and the achievement of sustainable development, according to the United Nations Charter.

This came during the participation of Al -Naimi and the delegation of the UAE Parliamentary Division accompanying in a high -level meeting on adhering to the Charter of the United Nations and International Law for International Peace and Security, organized by the General Secretariat of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the sidelines of the work of the Sixth World Conference of Parliamentary Presidents in the city of Geneva in the Swiss Federation during the period from 29 to July 31, 2025.

The meeting aims to emphasize the importance of the role of various multilateral institutions, diplomatic efforts in finding peaceful solutions to disputes, and the role of parliaments in emphasizing adherence to the basic principles stipulated in the United Nations Charter for the Preservation of International Peace and Security.

The delegation of the Emirati parliamentary Division included: Sarah Muhammad Flunaz, Dr. Marwan Obaid Al -Muhairi, Mira Sultan Al -Suwaidi, members of the Federal National Council, and Afra Rashid Al -Basti, Assistant Secretary -General for Parliamentary Communication.
