Trump announces a commercial agreement with the Republic of Korea

Washington, July 31/ WAM/ US President Donald Trump announced a new trade agreement with the Republic of Korea, which includes the imposition of customs duties and the expansion of investments and trade exchanges between the two countries.
“We have agreed to impose customs duties by 15% on Korean imports, while no fees will be imposed on American exports,” Trump said, on his “Truth Social” platform.

Trump added that the Republic of Korea will invest $ 350 billion in the United States of America, noting that the agreement includes Korea’s commitment to purchasing liquefied natural gas and other energy products worth $ 100 billion, in addition to accepting more American products, including cars and agricultural products.

The US President also announced that the Korean President will visit Washington, in the next two weeks, for bilateral talks.
For his part, Howard Lottenic, USA Minister of Trade, explained that the new fees will also include car imports from the Republic of Korea, which is one of the most prominent Seoul exports to the American market.
