Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi looks at the developments of the Sharjah Academy of Space and Astronomy Academy projects
Sharjah, August 5/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, briefed today the developments of the Sharjah Academy of Space and Astronomy Science and Technology and the most prominent development plans, at the Academy headquarters.
His Highness toured the academy building, watching the updates that occurred on the facilities that seek to define visitors and update their information about space and astronomy, and connecting knowledge to the latest educational and technical methods.
His Highness the President of Sharjah University is known through a visual presentation on the developments of projects in the academy such as the cubic cubic satellites and the meteorite laboratory exhibition that seeks to limit and document the meteorite group and cut the meteorite effect as well as the space monitoring stations, visual and radio astronomical observatories that the academy is creating in cooperation with various governmental and private agencies.
His Highness was briefed on the project to develop solar and gambling systems in the academy, which aims to support the state initiatives in the legal vision of the Hilal, develop the scientific infrastructure for monitoring solar and moon phenomena, and enabling the academy to participate in the global monitoring of astronomical phenomena.
His Highness the President of Sharjah University witnessed the most prominent statistics and numbers recorded by the Sharjah astronomical dome, and the number of visitors in it reached more than 4,500 visitors during the past two months of June and July, where the dome is working to attract its visitors by providing 20 shows per week, and it is known for the development plans of the dome and its efforts in enhancing its role in community awareness through workshops and specialized films in the field of space and astronomy, in addition to cooperation with various institutions And astronomical centers.
His Highness also got acquainted with the participation of the Sharjah Academy of Space and Astronomy Science and Astronomy with the Emirates Space Agency in the UAE mission to explore the asteroid belt, which is the first of its kind to study seven asteroids in the main asteroid belt, and develop the special space sector for the UAE, in addition to developing national capabilities in the fields of astronomical and space research, innovation and advanced technological development.
