The Central Korean Bank raises its expectations for the growth of Korea’s economy for the year 2025 to 0.9%

Seoul on August 28/ WAM/ The Central Korean Bank raised today, Thursday, its forecast for economic growth in the Republic of Korea to 0.9% for this year, and this amendment, which was made by the bank, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from its previous 0.8% forecasts, which was issued in May 2025.
The Korean “Yonhap” news agency said that this amendment came in light of indications of the recovery of special consumption, partly supported by the supplementary budget approved by the government and the last agreement with the United States on customs duties.
On the other hand, the Central Korean Bank kept the main interest rate unchanged at 2.5%, while continuing to monitor the risks related to the financial stability resulting from the high prices of housing in Seoul and the rise in families’ debts.
