The UAE strongly condemns the bombing of a mosque in Darfur

Abu Dhabi, September 21/ WAM/ The UAE expressed its strong condemnation of the bombing that targeted the Al -Dah Al -Atrah Mosque in the city of El Fasher in the northern region of Darfur, killing and wounding dozens of innocent civilians, stressing that this attack is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity of the parties to the conflict in Sudan to what was stated in the Jeddah Declaration, in order to ensure the protection of civilians, the prevailing of the Sudanese people, and to protect it from the continuous repercussions of the civil war.

The Ministry also renewed the affirmation of the established and supportive position of the UAE for all efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the civil war in Sudan, the immediate ceasefire, and the protection of civilians.

She stressed the commitment of the UAE to support the efforts made to address this catastrophic crisis, and to jointly work with regional and international partners to ensure stability and peace for the brotherly Sudanese people, stressing the rejection of all forms of extremism and terrorism that fuel violence and prolong the conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the brotherly Sudanese people in this painful injured, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
