Abu Dhabi, October 8/ WAM/ The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Canadian University of McGil, launched its mobile exhibition, “Pontiff of Gold: A Journey through Arab and Islamic Manuscripts”, to highlight the richness, beauty and richness of the heritage of Arab and Islamic manuscripts and the prominent global impact it has left.

The choice of “Al -Watan Palace” came as a first station for the exhibition due to its place of cultural and architectural beacon that celebrates the cultural inheritance, and because of its national and cultural symbol that combines unique architecture with the rich cognitive content.

The palace is not just a tourist landmark, but rather embodies the vision of the UAE in consolidating the values ​​of dialogue and cultural openness, and the role of knowledge in building bridges between civilizations is highlighted.

The exhibition continues for 6 months as part of a special artistic residence, to be transferred in January 2027 to McGill University in Canada, to continue its journey in presenting this heritage to a world audience.

This initiative – which was launched from Al -Watan Palace in the capital, Abu Dhabi – is embodied in the leadership of the UAE in preserving heritage and ensuring its sustainability, and the efforts of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi in organizing and presenting the Arab and Islamic intellectual heritage and its interpretation before the world audience.

The exhibition includes an exclusive set of treasures of Abu Dhabi libraries, as well as prominent contributions from McGil University, the Zayed National Museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and distinguished special groups in the UAE, which gives visitors a unique opportunity to see rare local holdings, especially the holdings of the Zayed National Museum, which is expected to open this year.

The exhibition takes its visitors on an exploratory journey that extends over centuries of intellectual and artistic achievements, embodied by rare manuscripts on the intellectual and artistic heritage of the Islamic world in various fields such as science, literature, religion, art, and philosophy.
