Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby spoke about the embarrassing situation she was exposed to at the opening ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival after her dress was torn while receiving the award.
Shalabi said that at first she felt very nervous, but she was keen nonetheless to thank her colleagues who supported her in her artistic career.
She added during a seminar to honor her: “Yesterday, when my dress was cut, I was nervous, but I wanted to thank my colleagues who helped me in every success I achieved. We actually say an artistic family because we remain afraid for each other at work.”
The incident occurred while Shalabi was being honored on stage by the star Yousra, who rushed to embrace her and help her quickly remedy the situation, after the dress was torn in the back, so that Menna could complete her speech calmly without the ceremony being affected or any confusion prevailing among the audience.
