despite "American postponement".. Moscow confirms the continuation of preparations for the Trump-Putin summit
Russia confirmed on Wednesday that preparations are underway for a summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump "Continuous" Despite the latter’s announcement the previous day that the meeting would be postponed indefinitely.
The Russian TASS agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov as saying: "We confirm that preparations for the summit are continuing".
The American President announced Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that he had postponed indefinitely a meeting he was scheduled to hold with his counterpart, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in Budapest within two weeks, attributing the reason for this postponement to his unwillingness to waste time by holding fruitless discussions.
Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about the reason for postponing the meeting. "I don’t want to have an empty meeting"he added "I don’t want to waste time, so I’ll see what happens".
And it was The American and Russian presidents are planning to meet in Budapest to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
Trump recently announced that he will meet his Russian counterpart within the next two weeks.
