A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the state of Balikesir in central Turkey.
Seismic monitoring stations in Turkey recorded a large earthquake, according to preliminary data issued by official authorities.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Center (AFAD) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Sindarji region of Balikesir state.
/>The strength of the earthquake reached 6.1 on the Richter scale, while the monitoring authority determined the depth of the earthquake’s epicenter at approximately 5.99 kilometers below the surface of the Earth.
Official data indicate that the earthquake occurred at 10:48 p.m. local time in Turkey, on October 27, 2025.
The coordinates of the epicenter of the earthquake were precisely determined, The latitude was 39.18389 north, while the longitude was 28.23083 east.
