The UAE leads the world in the rate of spread of artificial intelligence among the workforce

A report issued by Microsoft confirmed that the UAE has achieved first place in the world in the prevalence of the use of artificial intelligence technologies among the workforce, recording the highest adoption rate of this technology in the world during the current year, ahead of advanced digital economies.

According to the report, the country ranked among the global “diffusion leaders” category alongside Singapore and Norway, which is the category that classifies countries that not only use artificial intelligence, but also contribute to developing it, formulating paths for its application in the economy and society, and creating a comprehensive environment for its prosperity, including legislation, skills, and advanced technical platforms.

This international classification reflects the country’s transition from the stage of building digital capabilities and technical infrastructure to the stage of widespread employment of modern technologies and the design of innovative solutions that contribute to supporting the competitiveness of the UAE economy and expanding its role in the global digital economy system.

From strategic vision to global leadership

The report explained that the country’s leadership in this indicator was the result of a comprehensive system of proactive national initiatives and policies, the most prominent of which are:

National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031

Developing a system of digital legislation that facilitates technology adoption and supports innovation

Enhancing cloud infrastructure and attracting global investments in data centers

Establishing specialized academic and research entities such as Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence

Supporting startups and entrepreneurs in the technology sector

Government programs to qualify national talent and build advanced digital capabilities

The report also indicated that the country is among the most prominent global markets witnessing rapid development in integrating artificial intelligence into sectors such as government services, financial services, energy, transportation, health care, and education.

Strengthening the country’s position in the global economy

The report pointed out that the global leadership achieved by the country comes at a time when international competition to develop the structure and organization of artificial intelligence is accelerating, which strengthens its position as an attractive destination for digital investments and a regional and global center for innovation and advanced technology industry.

This achievement confirms the continued progress in implementing the state’s vision towards a future economy based on knowledge, innovation, and technological readiness, which contributes to supporting economic development, achieving sustainable growth, and enhancing national competencies in strategic sectors.

“Deployment leaders”…what does it mean?

It is used to describe a limited group of countries that contribute to pushing the global transition towards artificial intelligence through widespread adoption of technologies, developing their legislation and digital architecture, and providing technological skills and resources that contribute to shaping the future of artificial intelligence, not just consuming it.

While the artificial intelligence revolution continues to redraw the global economic and social landscape, the state model stands out as one of the models most capable of transforming technology into a tool for social and economic development and sustainability, and establishing an integrated digital system that contributes to creating future solutions that enhance the well-being of society and the competitiveness of the economy.
