A young artist died after a battle with cancer. This is how her daughter called her

Vanessa was receiving treatment in hospital after her disease, with which she was diagnosed in 2023, worsened, as the disease returned in the form of a synovial tumor in her lungs after she announced her complete recovery years ago from a rare sarcoma tumor in her leg.
The late artist left behind her only daughter, Larissa Rios (16 years old), who posted a moving eulogy on social media in which she said: “The pain of losing you is indescribable, but the relief of seeing you free and free from suffering is even greater. My solace is knowing that the memories, affection and teachings are now a part of me.”
The artist’s last post on Instagram was last September 30, where she shared family photos and wrote: “We are not what we have in life, but what matters is who we have in our lives. The family is the anchor that keeps us steady in the storms of life.”
Vanessa was the former vocalist of the bands “Capim Com Mel”, “Foro Do Moido” and “Kitara”. The band Capim Com Mel praised her “professionalism, dedication and legacy”, while her fellow musicians described her as a “hero” and “a great warrior”, in tribute to her strong spirit who faced the disease with rare fortitude.
