Khalifa University hosts "Robocop 2025" November 10

ABU DHABI, 5 November / WAM / On November 10, Khalifa University of Science and Technology will host the eighth edition of the Asia Pacific Robotics Cup 2025 “RoboCup” in Abu Dhabi, which is the largest edition of its kind in the region, and will be held in conjunction with the launch of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Week 2025.
The “RoboCop 2025” competitions will continue until November 15, and the event is expected to attract more than 700 participants and more than 2,500 visitors and guests from all over the world to compete in challenges of autonomous robots supported by artificial intelligence and other competitions that include various categories (8 main championships and 15 sub-tournaments).
These competitions are in line with the country’s national priorities and emphasize the importance of many topics, such as smart mobility, utilizing artificial intelligence to achieve sustainability, and regional challenges technologies.
The event also includes dynamic workshops on Khalifa University’s pioneering research in the fields of autonomous robots, swarm robots, artificial cognition, human-robot interaction, and robotic device design.
The UAE is participating with three teams, each consisting of 20 students, in the “RoboCop Junior League” competitions to represent the country in the categories of football robots, rescue robots, and performance robots.
These young innovators compete with their counterparts from more than 22 countries, and gain exposure to international research environments and exposure to global standards in the field of robotics, which gives them an opportunity to learn about international research environments and global standards in the field of robotics.
The UAE team is also supported by volunteers and research professors from the “Strategic Program for the Autonomous Robotics Challenge,” and this support includes technical cooperation, research exchange, and organizing events.
“RoboCop 2025” attracts about 151 teams consisting of 468 students and 187 mentors from 21 countries, and participation reflects a strong global presence from countries including China, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Russia.
