The Arab Parliament condemns the law of executing Palestinian prisoners

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, condemned the approval by the Knesset of the Israeli occupation entity of the racist draft law that allows the implementation of the death penalty against Palestinian prisoners in its first reading, stressing that this legislation represents a new crime added to the record of serious crimes and violations committed by the occupation entity against the Palestinian people, and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions that guarantee protection for prisoners during… Conflicts.

 

 Al-Yamahi stressed that the enactment of such laws clearly reveals the extremist racist mentality ruling the occupation entity and its attempt to legitimize extrajudicial killing and execution, noting that this constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens the lives of thousands of Palestinian prisoners and requires urgent international action.

 The President of the Arab Parliament renewed his call to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the international community to freeze Membership of the occupying entity’s Knesset in international parliamentary bodies due to its continued issuance of illegal legislation that violates international law, demanding that this legislation be stopped immediately and that international protection be provided for the Palestinian prisoners.
