Kuwait and the United Nations are discussing developing cooperation programs in the field of human rights

Today, the National Office for Human Rights in Kuwait and the United Nations discussed areas of work related to the promotion and protection of human rights at the regional and international levels, including harmonization with international standards, preparing joint action plans and implementing training programs, in addition to awareness-raising activities aimed at raising community awareness of human rights issues. The Office was Minister Plenipotentiary Anas Al-Shaheen, and the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Resident Coordinator in the State of Kuwait, Ghada Al-Taher.

 

The National Office indicated – in a statement – that the meeting was held with the participation of a number of specialists in the executive branch of the National Office for Human Rights, who reviewed the Office’s most prominent initiatives and priorities in the next phase and opportunities for cooperation with the United Nations system, in a way that supports national efforts aimed at promoting human rights. Human. 

 

According to the statement, the United Nations affirmed its keenness to support the efforts of the National Office for Human Rights and to enhance cooperation in programs and projects of common interest, which contributes to developing institutional capabilities and supporting national initiatives in this field.
