The unemployment rate continues to rise in Austria

Vienna, December 3, 2017 – The number of unemployed people in Austria increased for the 32nd month in a row. The unemployment rate last November reached 7.5%, recording a 4% increase compared to the same month last year. The number of unemployed people in Austria rose to about 400,000 people.

The latest official figures, issued by the Austrian Employment Service (AMS), showed 399,199 unemployed people registered in training and rehabilitation programs, an increase of 0.3% compared to the previous October. The data also recorded an annual increase of 4.0%, or 15,236 people, compared to the same month last year.
