The President of Palestine discusses with the Prime Minister of Spain the establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza
President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, discussed, during his meeting, today, Wednesday, in the Spanish capital, Madrid, with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, the efforts made to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the implementation of the second phase of the plan of US President Donald Trump, including the State of Palestine assuming its responsibilities in governance and security, in accordance with the principle of one state, one law, one legitimate weapon, and complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and going to reconstruction.
Abbas was briefed, The Prime Minister of Spain – according to the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” – on the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the continuation of settlement and settler terrorism, the attacks on Christian and Islamic holy places and the withholding of Palestinian tax funds, calling on the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop these serious violations that aim to undermine our national institutions and the two-state solution.
Abbas affirmed full commitment to all the reforms to which the state has committed. Palestine.
After the meeting, the President of the State of Palestine and the Spanish Prime Minister held a joint press conference, during which the Palestinian President expressed his appreciation for the sincere efforts of the Spanish Prime Minister, and the positions of Spain, its political forces and its friendly people, in support of the rights of our Palestinian people and peace based on justice and international law.
