The Gulf Statistical Center launches the Youth Creativity Award in the World of Data

Muscat, December 24 / WAM / The Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf launched the Youth Creativity Award in the World of Data, directed to Gulf youth in the age group from 18 to 34 years, on the occasion of Gulf Statistics Day.

The award, which is organized in partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the State of Qatar, the National Center for Statistics in the State of Qatar, and the Gulf Statistical Centre, comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance data culture and enable young people to employ it in supporting sustainable development paths, and in a way that reflects the integration of Gulf efforts in investing in young energies and building national capabilities in the fields of statistics and data science.

The award aims to discover promising talents in the field of data, support young minds, and stimulate creativity and innovation in the use and analysis of data, thus contributing to preparing a generation capable of transforming data into knowledge, and knowledge into a positive impact that is reflected in improving the quality of life and supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Her Excellency Intisar bint Abdullah Al-Wahaibiyya, Director General of the Gulf Statistical Center, said that the launch of the award is a clear message to the youth of the Gulf that they are the makers of tomorrow and the champions of the world of data, as it is directed to Gulf youth in the age group of 18 to 34 years, noting that this Gulf award is a clear message that our data is unified, our vision is shared, and our youth are capable of innovation, creativity, and creating the future.

She added that statistics have transcended their traditional role, and data are no longer silent numbers, but rather a force that builds the future and makes decisions that shape the features of our Gulf countries, stressing that real investment is not only in data, but in the minds that understand it and turn it into achievements that beautify our lives.

She explained that the launch of the award comes in line with the directions of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries towards enhancing the knowledge economy, developing human capital, and consolidating the role of youth as an active partner in shaping the future of statistical and digital work in the region, noting that the award represents a stimulating platform to encourage young people to provide innovative, data-based solutions to address development challenges.

The award contributes to spreading awareness of the importance of statistics and official data, and enhancing analytical and critical thinking skills among Gulf youth, in a way that supports the achievement of common national and Gulf development goals.
