The Iraqi Foreign Ministry confirms the government’s rejection of any attack or targeting targeting the Gulf states and Jordan

Today, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the government’s rejection of any attack or targeting targeting the Gulf states and Jordan, while stressing that the government is continuing to take the necessary measures to deal with all security challenges in accordance with the constitution and the law.

The Ministry stated, in a statement published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): It “confirms the government’s categorical rejection of any attack or targeting targeting the Arab Gulf countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” stressing that “the security of the sisterly Arab countries is an integral part of Iraqi national security, and that the stability of the region represents a common interest for all its people.”

The statement added that Iraq renews its commitment to its foreign policy based on balance, building relations of cooperation and mutual respect with countries in the region and the world, and joint work to enhance security and stability and reduce tensions, in a way that serves common interests and avoids further escalation in the region.

In this context, the Iraqi security services continue to coordinate and cooperate with their counterparts in brotherly and friendly countries, and express their full readiness to receive any information or evidence related to any targeting launched from Iraqi territory against neighboring countries, and to work jointly to address it responsibly and quickly.

She added, “Iraq confirms its refusal to use its territory to attack any other countries, and that the government is committed to taking everything necessary to preserve Iraq’s sovereignty, strengthen its fraternal relations, and prevent any actions that may harm the security and stability of the region.”

She pointed out that “the government confirms its communication with sister countries to support initiatives, efforts and joint work to stop the war, and return to diplomatic solutions and political dialogue, in a way that contributes to reducing the damage to the peoples and economies of the region, and achieving security and stability for all.”
