Raising the level of caution.. The eruption of Mount Marapi volcano in Indonesia

thar Mount Marapi Volcano located in West Sumatra, Republic of Indonesia, releasing a dense column of volcanic ash at a height of about 1,600 meters above the level of the volcano’s crater, which necessitated raising the level of caution in the surrounding areas.
The official at the Marabi Volcano Monitoring Center, Ahmed Rafandi, stated that the volcanic activity was recorded at 9:36 am local time, as the rising clouds of ash headed towards the northeastern side, while seismic monitors showed that the eruption continued for 31 seconds and with a maximum amplitude of 28.6 mm.
The competent Indonesian authorities kept the alert level at level two, while issuing strict warnings to residents and visitors of the necessity of not approaching the designated danger zone within 3 kilometers of the center of volcanic activity.
