After controlling it, America completes its first sale of Venezuelan oil


The United States has completed the sale of Venezuelan oil, the first since Washington took control of this sector after its arrest of President Nicholas Maduro, according to what an American official told Agence France-Presse.

This source, who did not identify the buyer, explained that the value of the transaction amounts to $500 million, indicating that other sales may take place in the coming days or weeks.

Control of Venezuela’s Oil

White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said, "Immediately after the arrest of Nicolas Maduro, President Trump reached a historic agreement with VenezuelaRelates to energy, which will benefit the American and Venezuelan peoples"

Trump said last week that "Acting authorities in Venezuela will hand over 30 to 50 million barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil to the United States.".

He added "This oil will be sold at market price, and I, as President of the United States of America, will administer those funds to ensure that they are used for the benefit of the people of Venezuela and the United States."He later explained that the money would be allocated to purchasing American products.
