Americana signs an exclusive license for 75 years for the Malak Al Tawouk brand… and acquires its franchises in the Emirates and Saudi Arabia

Americana International Restaurants Company, listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and the Saudi Tadawul, announced the addition of the “Malak Al Tawouk MAT” brand to its portfolio, through two strategic and integrated deals aimed at expanding the company’s presence in the fast-casual restaurant sector in the region.
The company explained that it had concluded an exclusive long-term license agreement for 75 years, granting it the rights to develop and operate the “Malak Al Tawouk” brand. The agreement includes 13 markets extending across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, the Levant, North Africa and Central Asia.
In parallel, Americana Restaurants signed an agreement to purchase shares, under which it acquires 100% of the current franchise shares of the “Malak Al Tawouk” brand in both the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which currently includes seven restaurants in the Emirates and three restaurants in Saudi Arabia.
According to the statement, the value of the deal to acquire the current “Malak Al Tawouk” concessions is about $20.8 million, equivalent to a profitability multiplier of 12 times, provided that the deal is fully financed from the company’s internal cash liquidity.
The company added that the current franchises generate annual revenues of approximately $21.1 million, with a net profit estimated at approximately $1.7 million.
The acquisition deal is expected to be completed by the end of February, subject to meeting the usual closing conditions and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
“Malak Al Tawouk” is a Lebanese family brand that was established in Beirut in 1996. It includes more than 45 restaurants in Lebanon and 19 restaurants in the Middle East, in addition to opening restaurants in France and Canada.
