The first batch of the Saqr humanitarian ship’s cargo arrives in the Gaza Strip to support and assist the population

GAZA, February 15, 2017 (WAM) – The first batch of the cargo of the humanitarian ship Saqr arrived in the Gaza Strip as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 3”, as part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the population and meet their basic needs in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions taking place in the Strip.
The ship’s cargo began to arrive successively in the Gaza Strip via trucks loaded with tons of aid and various parcels, as the first convoys arrived in the north of the Strip, carrying parcels on board provided by the Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Charitable Foundation, which were allocated to support families and the displaced, according to an approved distribution mechanism that ensures that the aid reaches those who deserve it.
The ship’s cargo includes 4,000 tons of food aid, shelter materials including winter clothes and living supplies, as well as medicines, consumables and medical devices, which contribute to alleviating the suffering of civilians and meeting urgent humanitarian needs, especially for children, women and the elderly, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
This step comes as part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” which works on a daily basis to reach displaced people and families in the northern Gaza Strip and various governorates, to confirm the sustainability of support and expand the scope of the humanitarian response.
