Abu Dhabi Judiciary adopts facial fingerprint technology in judicial transactions

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department launched the first phase of the project to adopt “face fingerprint” technology to complete judicial transactions, thus becoming the first judicial authority in the region to adopt this advanced technology as a smart alternative to the digital signature, in a strategic step aimed at developing the judicial documentation system and enhancing the efficiency of services according to the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
The first phase targets “power of attorney” transactions, as the new technology allows the power of attorney to be approved in record time via smart devices, which completely eliminates the need to use a digital signature, while ensuring the highest levels of security by encrypting vital data and matching it in real time with official records with extreme accuracy.
Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, confirmed that the adoption of this qualitative technology comes as an embodiment of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidential Court, and Head of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, regarding the necessity of continuously modernizing the justice system and activating the latest technologies to ensure the provision of smart and innovative services that support the global competitiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He explained that activating facial fingerprint technology in judicial transactions represents a strategic shift towards the future, which essentially aims to simplify the customer’s journey and reduce effort and time to their lowest levels by providing proactive, flexible services that contribute to achieving a record speed in completing official transactions, which enhances the efficiency of digital government performance and supports Abu Dhabi’s leadership in this field.
He pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department is working to expand the scope of this technology to include various services and accreditations in notary transactions and documentation during the next stage, thus consolidating the position of the judicial and justice system in Abu Dhabi as a global model to be emulated in innovation and integrated digital services.
