"Friends of cancer patients" Launching the 2026 Zakat campaign

Sharjah, February 20 / WAM / The Friends of Cancer Patients Society launched its annual Zakat campaign for the year 2026 under the slogan “Good people have people”, with the aim of collecting Zakat funds and donations to cover the costs of treating people with cancer, and providing material and moral support to enhance the psychological and social care system for them and their families.

The campaign is in line with the spirit of the “Year of the Family” in the UAE, to assure patients that society and its institutions represent their second family, supporting them to continue their treatment journey steadfastly.

Aisha Al-Mulla, Director of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, confirmed that the campaign this year focuses on activating the impact of Zakat as a direct means of supporting patients and their families, calling on community members to direct their Zakat and charity through the Association.

She explained that Zakat represents vital support for the sustainability of care programs, and that every contribution makes a real difference in completing treatment and improving the quality of life, in addition to reducing the financial and psychological burdens placed on patients.

In addition to treatment support, the campaign includes a series of community initiatives that embody the values of solidarity in Emirati society, which includes distributing “Ramadan Meer” and providing Eid clothing to children with cancer, as well as organizing group iftar tables that contribute to enhancing the sense of belonging and alleviating feelings of isolation imposed by the disease.
