المملكة: "Quba".. The first mosque in Islam that witnessed the largest expansion during the era of wise leadership

The Quba Mosque is the first mosque founded in Islam, and carries within it the fragrance of the Prophet’s biography, and it is a destination for the people of Medina and its visitors.

The Quba Mosque has received attention and care throughout history, starting with the Prophet’s era, the Rashidun era, the Umayyad and Abbasid eras, and ending with the prosperous Saudi era, as these efforts contributed to preserving its urban and architectural style.

Expansion of Quba Mosque

On April 8, 2022 AD, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – launched the largest expansion in the history of Quba Mosque and developed the surrounding area, directing that the project be named after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God support him -.

The Quba Mosque expansion project and the development of the surrounding area aimed to increase the total area of the mosque from 5,035 square meters to 72 thousand square meters, by more than 10 thousand square meters. Multiple times its current area, with a capacity of up to 66 thousand worshippers.

Kingdom’s Vision 2030

The project is the largest expansion in the history of Quba Mosque since its establishment in the first year of the Hijra, in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 within the programs of serving the guests of God and quality of life.

The project also includes developing and reviving historical sites to include 57 sites covering many wells, farms, and orchards, and connecting three paths. Prophetic.
