المملكة: "Islamic affairs" The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ramadan programs are implemented in Thailand in the presence of the Speaker of Parliament


The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attache of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Kingdom of Thailand, held an official ceremony in the capital, Bangkok, on the occasion of the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ramadan programmes, which include: breaking the fast for the fasting people, giving the gift of luxurious dates, distributing the Holy Qur’an, and sending imams, on Monday evening, Ramadan 5, 1447 AH.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of the Speaker of Parliament in Thailand, Mr. Muhammad Nour. Matta, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Suhaibani, the Sheikh of Islam in the Kingdom of Thailand, Sheikh Arun Boon Shum, the President of the Islamic Central Council, General Surin Palari, the religious attaché, Mr. Majid bin Muhammad Al-Dhayan, along with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Russian Ambassador, and a number of ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries, and heads of Islamic councils and associations in Thailand.

The Kingdom’s sustainable support for all Muslims

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Thailand explained that these programs are implemented in coordination with the competent authorities in Thailand, and are distributed through the central councils, charitable societies and mosques, under the supervision and follow-up of the Office of the Islamic Counselor at the embassy, in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs supervising these initiatives, noting the continuous support given by the Kingdom’s leadership to serve Islam and Muslims, and appreciating the Ministry’s efforts led by His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh in delivering these programs to Muslims around the world.

Qualitative services and programs

For his part, the Sheikh of Islam in Thailand, Sheikh Arun Boon Shum, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the leadership, government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, raising the highest expressions of gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz – may God protect them -, for the quality programs provided by the Kingdom that serve Muslims in various parts of the world, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

He stressed that the programs of breaking the fast for the fasting people and the gift of luxurious dates are widely appreciated in Thailand, because of their direct impact in supporting Islamic councils and centers, and enhancing the spirit of solidarity and compassion among Muslims, noting that cooperation between the Kingdom and Thailand is witnessing remarkable development in various fields, including Islamic work. The implementation of these programs comes within the Kingdom’s extended humanitarian and advocacy mission, which promotes the values of giving and compassion, and consolidates its leadership position in serving Islam and Muslims at the international level, as an extension of its established approach to supporting Muslim communities around the world.
