This joining comes following the National Orchestra’s participation in the Beijing Symphony Music Forum, where Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Director General of the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, was invited to deliver a keynote speech during which she reviewed the emergence of the National Orchestra, whose originality is inspired by the Emirati musical heritage and the diversity of its musical programs to reflect the country’s ambition to build a contemporary musical sound.
The invitation and the broad interaction with Sheikha Alia’s speech reflected growing international interest in the UAE National Orchestra project.
This joining the State National Orchestra allows it to build bridges of cultural and artistic communication with the International Federation of Performing Arts system, which includes major performing arts institutions from more than 22 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
The Union provides a global platform for communicating, exchanging experiences, and enhancing cooperation, which contributes to launching joint artistic initiatives that bring together the diversity of cultures and creative traditions in one framework.
This membership contributes to enhancing the National Orchestra’s vision of building sustainable cultural partnerships and relations around the world, and bringing the UAE’s identity to the highest international levels, based on an authentic national voice that reflects the country’s identity, ambitions, and high values.
Sheikha Alia bint Khalid Al Qasimi said that the National Orchestra’s joining the International Federation of Performing Arts is an essential step in building its international presence, which represented the essence of participation in the Beijing Forum, where we reviewed, through effective and in-depth dialogues with our global partners, the UAE’s efforts and its unique methodology in building cultural institutions.
She expressed her happiness at joining the union, which constitutes a platform based on cooperation, exchange of experiences and cultural dialogue, noting that it is the beginning of a broader exchange based on joint work that links musical traditions and ambitious ideas.
The International Federation for Performing Arts was established in 2020 at the initiative of the National Center for the Performing Arts in China. The Federation, which currently includes 34 institutions from around the world, aims to provide a global platform that allows performing arts pioneers to cooperate and support joint production projects, participate in artistic tours, digital initiatives and talent development.
Joining the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates constitutes a milestone in its international journey, as it lays a solid foundation for building creative partnerships and sustainable cultural cooperation relations.
