Sellal cooperates with the National Agricultural Center to support the country’s farmers and enhance the food security system

ABU DHABI, 8 March / WAM / “Salal”, the leader in the agricultural and food sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced the expansion of its operations in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in cooperation with the National Agricultural Center, in a strategic step that reflects the group’s direction towards expanding its geographical presence at the state level, supporting local farmers, enhancing the marketing of Emirati agricultural products and expanding their access to markets.
The first phase of the initiative will be launched in the Al Hamraniyah area in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, where Sellal will begin working with the region’s farms as of March 9, as part of joint efforts to develop the agricultural production system and enable farmers to enhance their production and market their products more efficiently.
The partnership aims to develop an integrated system for farmers that includes technical support, application of best practices and agricultural inputs, in addition to supervising the post-harvest stages and marketing of products, which contributes to raising their quality and enhancing their competitiveness in local markets.
Sellal will also work, in cooperation with the National Agricultural Center, to establish a dedicated center to receive crops and organize their distribution and marketing operations, within an integrated system aimed at enhancing the efficiency of agricultural supply chains in the country, and supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of national food security.

This initiative falls within the national efforts aimed at developing the agricultural production system and food supply chains in the various emirates of the country, by enhancing integration between the stages of production, marketing and distribution, and supporting local farmers, in a way that enhances the flexibility of the agricultural sector and consolidates its role in achieving food security in the UAE.
