Technical standards
I indicated that the requirements aim to ensure the operation of water filling stations in accordance with Technical and operational standards enhance the safety of operations and service efficiency, and contribute to providing an organized and safe operating environment within the stations.
She indicated that the requirements include a number of basic requirements, the most prominent of which is the design of the station to ensure the presence of a separate entrance and exit to regulate the movement of tanks, reduce congestion, and enhance operational safety, in addition to organizing the movement of vehicles within the site and safe disposal of waste resulting from operation.
Appropriate specifications
The requirements also included preparing the station’s floors with appropriate specifications to bear the heavy weights of the tanks, while providing appropriate slopes for water drainage and clear regulating lines for the movement of vehicles, which contributes to reducing accidents and maintaining the safety of workers and vehicles inside the site.
On the operations side, the authority explained the necessity of providing appropriate production capacity, dividing water sources among multiple tanks, and using automatic meters to monitor water levels, in order to ensure continuity of service without interruption and enhance the station’s readiness to meet Request.
Periodic maintenance
As for water safety, the Authority stressed the importance of providing water tanks that are tightly insulated and subject to periodic cleaning and maintenance, while choosing suitable locations far from sources of pollution, to ensure the preservation of water quality and safety.
The Saudi Water Authority stressed the need for station owners and operators to take the initiative to complete the licensing requirements before the expiry of the specified deadline, calling for taking advantage of the remaining period to correct the situation and adhere to it. The authority noted that failure to comply with these requirements exposes activity practitioners to violations and penalties in accordance with the water system, as part of its supervisory role to control the sector and raise the level of compliance and quality of services provided.
