The “Dubai World Cup” evening next Saturday at the Meydan Racecourse will enjoy a wide global following, with its events confirmed to be broadcast live in 170 countries around the world in an edition whose prize money reaches $30.5 million.
The event is considered one of the most widespread horse races in the world, with the participation of an elite group of horses representing more than 12 countries, in nine rounds, led by the “Dubai World Cup”, with prizes of $12 million, sponsored by Emirates Airlines.
The Dubai Racing Club said in a statement that the club worked to expand the scope of global broadcasting, reflecting the prestigious international status of the event, through a television distribution network and multiple digital platforms, in cooperation with Race Course Media Group (RMG) and its agency, HBA Media.
RMG, in cooperation with Time Line TV, is responsible for producing and broadcasting the events, including the global program “World Feed”, where it has agreed with 37 television stations to broadcast the evening live, including “Channel 7”, which will broadcast the event for the first time on main television in Australia, along with the Canadian “Sportsnet”, and the “Fancode” platform, which includes about 160 million users in India.
The list of broadcast channels also includes a number of the most prominent international networks, including “Fox Sports” in the United States, “ESPN and Star+” in South America, “Super Sports” in Africa, in addition to “Eurovision”, “Via Play” and “Setanta Sports” in Europe.
In the Arab region, the events will be broadcast by Dubai Racing, Yas (Abu Dhabi), and the Saudi Sports Channel, with a field presence at the racetrack, while follow-up will also be available in Asia via Japanese and Hong Kong channels and specialized digital platforms.
Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Dubai Horse Racing Club, Ali Al Ali, confirmed in press statements that “the record turnout for following the event reflects its global status,” noting that “television and digital coverage represents a major window for conveying the event to the international audience, and an important indicator of its growing popularity.”
