“Generation Maker” is a name that touches hearts

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children confirmed to Emirates Al-Youm that changing the name “housewife” to “generation maker” reflects the deep appreciation for the family and the role of the mother, who bears the responsibility of raising generations to be proud of the nation.
She explained that the role of the mother is no longer reduced to traditional roles, but has gone beyond that to form the basis of children and identity in light of the challenges that cast a shadow on families.
This came after His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, directed the Community Development Authority to adopt the title “Generation Maker” instead of “Housewife”, coinciding with “International Mother’s Day” which falls on March 21 of each year, and in appreciation of her role, which words cannot do justice to.
The mothers expressed their happiness with the new title, stressing that it touched their hearts and made them feel how much appreciation they received from the leadership.
In detail, mother Mahra Al Muhairi confirmed that choosing the title “Generation Maker” reflects a deep appreciation for the role of mothers who raise generations that contribute to building the future of the nation.
She said that by virtue of her marriage at an early age, she had the opportunity to be close in age to her children and closer to their generation, noting that she was keen to constantly develop herself, so she enrolled in adult education to expand her knowledge and keep pace with the requirements of the times.
She added that today she sees her grandchildren’s children as the most precious fruit she has reaped, and she considers them an achievement that she rejoices in every day, wishing to see all her grandchildren’s children soon.
Alia Al Shehhi said that the title touched her heart as a young mother, and gave her an honor equal to the greatest innovators, and an importance no less than a manager in a giant company whose profits exceed expectations. She stressed that she sees herself as a “generation maker” just as her mother raised her and prepared her to complete the academic, practical, and marital journey to the fullest, expressing her appreciation for the efforts of mothers and their great role.
Alia Ahly considered that the decision had a major psychological impact, as she works in the greatest job, which is raising children.
She believes that calling her a “generation maker” gives her a feeling that her effort has meaning, and that the effort she is making is not hidden or simple, but rather is the foundation on which an entire future is built, noting that behind every single child is a mother who stayed up late, tired, and sacrificed her time and health.
She added: “I may not be a working mother, but inside my home I create a life, cultivate values, and build a generation, God willing, that will be proud of me and its society in the future.”
As for Mona Al-Hai, she said that being named “Generation Maker” is a source of pride and happiness, as she is a grandmother to young grandchildren who is contributing to their upbringing today, noting that the mother who is raising her children is actually creating the generation, but officially adopting the title touches her heart and places a great responsibility on her shoulders.
She added that this includes even mothers who may be busy with their children, as it enhances their sense of responsibility in raising an exceptional generation capable of leadership in the future, and an understanding generation that takes responsibility.
She emphasized that “the title gives a feeling that every person must be creative and think of ways to communicate with the younger generation effectively.” It also holds women who have not yet given birth to children an upcoming responsibility to prepare for in the future,” pointing out that the exceptional initiative raises the value of women and the family.
For her part, Acting Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, Sheikha Al Mansouri, confirmed to Emirates Today that “Mother’s Day came this year under exceptional circumstances, as humanitarian challenges are escalating and casting a shadow on families, so that the mother stands out – more than ever before – as a first line of defense for the stability of her children and their psychological and moral protection.”
She appreciated the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, pointing out that “the new name reflects the extent of the wise leadership’s appreciation of the mother as a major partner in shaping the future, as her role is not limited to managing family affairs, but rather extends to include building values, formulating identity, and preparing generations capable of bearing responsibility for the nation.”
She added to “Emirates Today” that the mother, as the maker of generations, instils belonging and responsibility in the souls of her children, and establishes a solid awareness whose impact is reflected in the stability and progress of society, stressing that her presence increases in times of crises, as she turns into a source of strength and balance, preserving family cohesion and reshaping tranquility in the souls of her children despite the challenges.
Al Mansouri also directed a tribute of appreciation and reverence to the mothers of the nation’s martyrs, who offered the highest forms of giving and sacrifice, stressing that they embody the highest meanings of patience and steadfastness, and that the sacrifices of their children will remain a source of pride and pride, and an established model in the national memory.
She explained that the role of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children stems from this vision, by continuing to work to support and empower mothers, and provide an integrated system of services that enhance psychological and social stability, and contribute to protecting the family as it is the solid foundation for building a strong and cohesive society.
She pointed out that the celebration of Mother’s Day intersects with the connotations of the Year of the Family, with its affirmation of the status of the family as the basic pillar in building society and sustaining its cohesion, stressing that the role of the mother is no longer reduced to traditional roles, but rather goes beyond that to form the basis for building the human being and shaping his awareness.
