The Omani government announces the completion of the acquisition of Salam Air

Muscat, 29 March / WAM / The government of the Sultanate of Oman announced the completion of the acquisition of “Salam Air”, confirming the continuation of the operation of the two carriers, “Oman Air” and “Salam Air”, as two completely independent brands, and the preservation of their operational identity, fleet and services provided.

Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Omani Minister of Transport, Communications, Technology and Information, said that this trend aims to reduce the overlap in the network of destinations between the two companies, ensuring optimal use of fleets and expanding the scope of air connectivity within the Sultanate and in the region, and thus enhancing operating efficiency and giving travelers wider options and greater diversity within the two economic categories within which the two companies operate.

He added in a statement to the Oman News Agency that this strategic shift is expected to contribute to improving the financial solvency of the two companies, in addition to companies related to ground services, by developing cost structures and enhancing the quality of revenues.
