Senegalese Aliou Cisse leads the “Black Deer” until 2030
The Angolan Football Association announced, on Thursday, the appointment of Senegalese Aliou Cisse as the new technical director of the “Black Deer”, after a series of successful negotiations between the two parties to fill the vacant seat since last February.
The Angolan Federation, through its official account, welcomed its new coach, saying: “Welcome Aliou Cisse to your new home.”
Although the official statement did not reveal the duration of the contract, press reports confirmed that Cisse had signed a four-year contract, which means that he will continue to lead the Angola technical project until 2030.
This step comes a few days after Cisse left coaching the Libyan national team, even though his contract was extending until 2027.
Informed sources attributed this sudden departure to “financial crises” within the corridors of the Libyan Federation, which included a delay in the payment of salaries, which hastened the end of the experience that Cisse described as “fruitful” despite the challenges.
Cisse succeeds former coach Patrice Baumel, who left last February.
Angolan fans place high hopes on Cisse’s great African experience to rebuild the national team and compete strongly in the upcoming competitions, benefiting from his previous successes with the Teranga Lions and his short experience with the Mediterranean Knights.
