Axios: US Navy ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz

A US official told Axios that several US Navy ships had crossed The Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, stressing that this operation focused on freedom of navigation in international waters.

Sources indicate that the operation aims to enhance the confidence of commercial ships in transit, and came in conjunction with the launch of peace talks between the two sides in Pakistan.

While an Iranian military official told Reuters he denied any American ship crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
